In 1968, six families sought God’s direction for launching a new church in Willmar. When a bank account at the Citizens National Bank was opened to deposit the offering from the first home service – $375.46 – the bank president offered the use of the basement community room for services and the bank offices for Sunday School classes. The cost? Nothing. Making no expenditures, the church was ready for its first public service on February 11, 1968! God provided confirmation as forty-seven attended that service, and enthusiasm and participation continued to build. The church grew in numbers and constructed the Chapel in 1968. Today’s current Worship Center built in 2004. Living Hope has experienced God’s faithfulness and the power of the gospel to transform people’s lives over the past 49 years.
We are led by this mission, that by God’s Spirit, we will be and make disciples who follow Jesus, become like Jesus and engage in the mission of Jesus. Our vision is to be a community of disciples who are reflecting God’s glory by reproducing and resourcing disciples locally, regionally and globally.
