Title: Repent and Believe in the Gospel
Text: Mark 1:14-45
Outline:
- Gospel Call (Mark 1:16-20)
- Gospel Authority (Mark 1:21-28)
- Gospel Touch (Mark 1:29-45)
Application questions:
- What does the immediate response of Simon, Andrew, James and John to Jesus’ call tell us about the nature of Jesus' authority and the urgency of the Gospel?
- In what areas of your life is Jesus calling you to leave something behind in order to follow Him more closely?
- Can you think of specific teachings of Jesus (such as loving your neighbor or forgiving others) that you need to incorporate more fully into your daily decisions and interactions? How might you do that?
- What situations in your life currently require you to trust in the authority and power of Jesus? How are you responding to these situations?
- Reflect on how each aspect of Gospel Call, Authority and Touch, challenges or reinforces your current understanding of who Jesus is and what it means to live out the Gospel.
- Have you been memorizing the monthly memory verse, Mark 1:15? Say it out loud as a small group or write it down somewhere to remind you through your week.
