Personal Reflection & Small Group Questions
Please complete this study on your own, then bring it to your small group for discussion.
- What has been your relationship with money? Has it changed, if there was a time you can remember, when you were not a believer?
- READ Proverbs 6:1-5. Why do you think Solomon breaks his discussion on adultery and sexual ethics to talk about money?
- Why is it generally unwise to “put up security” for others? How is this different from giving gifts?
- What is your relationship with working hard?
- Look at the list of things God hates in verses 16-19. Why is the seventh one, discord among brothers, elevated? How do the others relate to it?
- Summarize Solomon’s teaching on work in verses 6-11. How does this relate to verses 1-5?
- What is the balance between being diligent and hardworking in all areas of life (finances, our spiritual walk, relationships, etc.) and the message of the gospel that God is the One who accomplished everything on our behalf and the guarantee of our eternal life (which includes prosperity, joy, abundance, etc.), which are all free gifts from Him?
