Discussion Questions

1. What makes something worth doing in this life? In other words, what inherently makes something worthwhile? Then, what are some of those things?

2. READ Eph 4:1-6. Paul strongly urges his readers to “walk” in a manner worthy of their calling. What is “the calling” to which you have been called? Note that Paul uses the noun and verb for “calling/call” both in v. 1 and then again in v. 4. What significance might this have?

3. vv. 2-3 tell us how we are to walk in a manner worthy our calling. In v. 2a, Paul identifies this as walking in humility, gentleness and patience in the context of “bearing with one another in love.” When have you had to bear with someone else? What do you need grow in the most out of humility, gentleness and patience?

4. READ v. 3. Are you truly eager to maintain unity in your church when there are significant and difficult differences? Why or why not? What is the normal reaction of people when difficulty comes, what do we naturally do?

5. vv. 4-6 read differently from vv. 1-3. How do they relate? Why does Paul go into all the “one” items after his exhortations in vv. 1-3?

6. How can you contribute to the spiritual maturity of Living Hope and strengthen our “unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” ?
