Personal Reflection & Small Group Questions
Please complete this study on your own, then bring it to your small group for discussion.
1. Do you think there is any lesson to be learned from the fact that Paul (here in v. 14), Jesus (in Luke 22:41), and Peter (in Acts 9:40) kneeled to pray? Contrast Luke 18:11.
2. Paul doesn’t pray first for strength to do great works, but for strength to grasp God’s love. What might that tell you about your own spiritual priorities right now?
3. What does Paul mean in that Christ’s love surpasses knowledge?
4. Where in your life have you settled for a surface-level relationship with Jesus? What would it look like to pray for “divine dynamite” in that area?
5. On a scale of 1–10, how is your prayer life? What is one small, specific step you can take this week to grow by just one point on that scale?
6. Pray.
